Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC) conducted a public awareness session on the importance of radiation analysis of coffee and all other products in the food chain. The session was conducted to traders at the coffee auction market of Moshi in Kilimanjaro held on 21/11/2019.

The local businessmen who are transporting coffee into and outside the country were able to gain awareness of the reasons for radiation analysis and the whole process of radiation analysis and radiation analysis certificates that will allow them to import or export their products.

TAEC presented the importance of radiation analysis in the coffee and other products in order to ensure that no adverse effects of radiation can harm consumers both inside and outside the country.

Atomic Energy Act.  No. 7 of the 2003 has given the Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission power to ensure radiation safety in all nuclear science applications in the country.

TAEC will continue to conduct radiation safety education to all different businessmen in the country and provide more awareness about radiation analysis of various goods that are imported or exported in the country.
